Schengen Information System (SIS) (english)

The Schengen Information System (SIS) is a computerised system of alerts on persons and objects which is managed and used jointly by all the Schengen States including Switzerland. It contains information on people wanted by the police or the courts, banned from entering the Schengen area or who are missing. It also contains information on stolen or missing objects so that they may be seized or used as evidence if found. Everyone has the right to be given information on whether data concerning them is being stored in the SIS and, if so, to have access to this data and if they are not accurate or unlawfully entered to have them corrected or deleted. You will find templates and further information on the website of the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
